New Delhi, India – Xiaomi has officially expanded its tablet lineup in India with the launch of the Redmi Pad 2, a device poised to redefine the budget tablet segment. Combining a stunning display, a robust processor, and innovative software features, the Redmi Pad 2 aims to offer a premium experience without the premium price tag, making it an attractive option for students, professionals, and entertainment enthusiasts alike.
Pricing and Availability:
The Redmi Pad 2 enters the Indian market with competitive pricing, starting at ₹13,999 for the base variant. Currently, only the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage Wi-Fi-only model has been confirmed with this starting price. Xiaomi is expected to offer additional configurations with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage, with their prices to be revealed soon or at the time of sale.
Sales for the Redmi Pad 2 are slated to commence on June 24. Customers will be able to purchase the tablet through Xiaomi’s official website, Amazon India, and select offline retail partners across the country.
Immersive Display and Powerful Performance:
The highlight of the Redmi Pad 2 is its expansive 11-inch 2.5K display, offering crisp visuals and vibrant colors for an immersive viewing experience. The screen boasts a smooth 90Hz refresh rate for fluid scrolling and improved responsiveness, along with 10-bit color support for richer, more accurate hues. Eye comfort is prioritized with TÜV Rheinland eye protection certifications, reducing blue light emission. A notable addition is the wet-touch technology, ensuring the display remains responsive even when fingers are damp, a practical feature for everyday use.
Under the hood, the tablet is powered by the MediaTek Helio G100-Ultra processor. This chipset is designed to deliver a balanced performance, handling everyday tasks, multimedia consumption, and light gaming with ease. The device will be available with various RAM and storage configurations, catering to different user needs.
Long-Lasting Battery and Smart Features:
To ensure uninterrupted usage, the Redmi Pad 2 is equipped with a large 9,000mAh battery. This substantial power unit promises extended hours of productivity and entertainment. It supports 18W wired charging, allowing for relatively quick top-ups.
A standout feature that sets the Redmi Pad 2 apart in its segment is the pre-installation of Google’s Circle to Search functionality. This makes it the first tablet in India to offer this intuitive search tool right out of the box, allowing users to simply circle anything on their screen to initiate a Google search, enhancing productivity and information retrieval.
The Redmi Pad 2 is poised to be a strong contender in India’s competitive tablet market, offering a blend of high-end features and an aggressive price point, making advanced tablet experiences accessible to a wider audience. Sources
