Samsung has officially launched its latest mid-range contender in India, the Galaxy M56 5G. The South Korean tech giant is touting the device as the “segment’s slimmest smartphone,” with a sleek 7.2mm profile. The phone aims to offer a blend of style, durability, and powerful performance to the competitive mid-range market.
Design and Display:
The Samsung Galaxy M56 5G features a premium glass back and a metal deco camera module, bringing a refined aesthetic to the Galaxy M series. The slim design is complemented by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection on both the front and back, enhancing the device’s durability and making it the “toughest M series phone ever,” according to Samsung.
The smartphone sports a large 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED+ display, promising vibrant visuals and an immersive viewing experience. The display boasts a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and features up to 1200 nits of High Brightness Mode (HBM) along with Vision Booster technology, ensuring excellent visibility even under bright sunlight. The bezels around the display are also notably slimmer compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy M55.
Performance and Battery:
Under the hood, the Galaxy M56 5G is powered by the 4nm-based Exynos 1480 processor coupled with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM. It will be available in two storage configurations: 128GB and 256GB (UFS 3.1), with microSD card support for further expansion. For efficient thermal management, the phone is equipped with a vapor cooling chamber, which is reportedly 33% larger than that of the Galaxy M55. The device supports 5G connectivity, ensuring fast download and streaming speeds.
The Galaxy M56 5G packs a substantial 5000mAh battery, supporting 45W super-fast charging via Super Fast Charge 2.0 technology. However, it’s important to note that Samsung will not include a charger in the box.
Camera Capabilities:
In the camera department, the Galaxy M56 5G features a triple rear camera setup: a 50MP primary sensor with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) for shake-free photos and videos, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro lens. The phone is capable of recording 4K videos at 30fps with 10-bit HDR on both the front and rear cameras.
For selfies and video calls, the device sports a 12MP front-facing camera with HDR support. The camera system also includes AI-powered editing tools such as Object Eraser, Edit Suggestions, and Image Clipper. The Portrait 2.0 feature on the rear camera offers a 2X zoom capability for crisp bokeh effects.
Software and Other Features:
The Samsung Galaxy M56 5G runs on Android 15 with Samsung’s One UI 7 skin out of the box. Samsung is committing to providing up to six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates for the device, ensuring a future-ready experience for users. The phone also features an in-display fingerprint sensor for enhanced security and Samsung Knox Vault for robust protection against hardware and software attacks.
Connectivity options include 5G SA/NSA, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6 (802.11 ac 2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.3, GPS + GLONASS, USB Type-C port, and NFC. The phone measures 162.0 x 77.3 x 7.2mm and weighs 180 grams.
Price and Availability:
The Samsung Galaxy M56 5G will be available in two color options: Light Green and Black. The pricing for the Indian market is as follows:

- 8GB RAM + 256GB Storage: ₹30,999
As part of the launch offer, Samsung is providing an instant bank discount of ₹3,000 with HDFC Bank cards. The official sale will commence on April 23rd at 12 PM IST through Amazon India, Samsung India’s website, and select retail stores.
